Niedersachsen-Meute, Inc.

The Niedersachsen-Meute e.V. is a long-established association dedicated to hunting on horseback and an integral part of the Horse Region Hannover. For over 60 years, the association has been organizing drag hunts led by a pack of foxhounds, combining equestrian sports, the outdoors, and time-honored traditions.

A drag hunt is a form of equestrian sport in which dogs follow an artificially laid trail. The horse, rider, and pack of dogs work closely together to form a well-coordinated team. This form of hunting on horseback is considered both physically demanding and a unique experience of nature.

The foxhounds of the Lower Saxony Pack are housed at the pack kennel in Dorfmark. From there, the club participates in numerous hunts and events throughout northern Germany during the season, which runs from late August to early December. In total, the club holds about 60 events each year.
