Uetze is an idyllic town nestled between a nature reserve and interesting historic landmarks. The formerly independent villages of Altmerdingsen, Dedenhausen, Dollbergen, Eltze, Hänigsen, Katensen, Obershagen, and Schwüblingsen are part of Uetze. Visitors will find a half-timbered church with Lower Saxony’s oldest baptismal font, a well-preserved post mill, and the Irenensee Recreation Park, which offers opportunities for leisure and water sports. Uetze is also considered one of Germany’s largest onion-growing regions.
