Extensive fields, wooded areas, small lakes and predominantly sandy soils invite you to ride out.
Circular Hike Around Meitze (13.1 km, 2 hours)
The route starts in the small equestrian village of Meitze, heading east from the playground. At the end of the paved section, turn left onto a gravel path that runs parallel to the A7 highway. Then turn right and cross the highway bridge. Next, take the first right; at the end, “climb” up a small sand hill on the left to reach the path leading to the gravel lakes, following it along the edge of the meadow until the end. After that, take a footpath to the left to return to the paved trail. Turn right, then left until the second intersection, where you turn right. Follow a gravel path to the Wietze River, which you’ll cross via a small bridge. Then turn left onto the willow-lined path along the Wietze. Turn left at the end. Here, we cross the small stream again via a bridge. Then follow a short stretch of paved road: turn left, then take the second right. Now comes a long, wide sandy path that invites you to break into a brisk canter. At the end, turn left until you pass under the highway bridge, then take the first left, turn right, and continue straight ahead to the outskirts of Meitze. Turn right again to return to the playground.
