New Schauburg

The Neue Schauburg in Burgdorf is a historic movie theater and an integral part of cultural life in the Region Hannover. The theater has been in operation for over 85 years and today combines the charm of classic movie palaces with modern technology and a diverse program.

The cinema has a theater with approximately 220 seats and offers a diverse program that goes beyond traditional film screenings. In addition to current feature films, family films, and arthouse productions, the program also includes documentaries, special events, and themed film series.

The program is rounded out by special events such as the Film Café, where films are screened alongside coffee and cake, as well as live broadcasts of opera and ballet performances, readings, and concerts.

The history of the cinema dates back to the 1930s, when the building was still used as a farm. After its renovation, the Schauburg became a popular gathering place for movie lovers and has established itself as a cultural institution over the generations.
