The playground is situated beneath large trees and is bordered by a spacious lawn.
The centerpiece of this area is a large play castle made of tree trunks with red branches shaped like a dragon winding its way around the trees. It’s a great place for climbing, shimmying, and balancing.
A slide leads down from a small wooden tower with a lookout. You land right at the water play area, which is next to a sandbox—ideal for mud-players and canal-builders.
For adults, there’s a bocce court.
Here's how to get there:
You can reach the playground by bike via the Hannover-Lüneburg long-distance bike path, the bike path along the L 381, and the local network of bike paths.
Take buses 600, 638, or 650 to the “Großburgwedel-Mitte” stop.
If you're coming by car, we recommend parking on Von-Eltz-Straße or Mühlenbruchdamm.
The center of Großburgwedel offers a variety of options for grabbing a snack and is within a 10–15-minute walk.
