Grab your big shopping basket and head over to Burgwedel’s pedestrian zone, Von-Alten-Straße. That’s where the big weekly market takes place every Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Whether you’re looking for fruit for a cake or asparagus for lunch—you can find just about anything at the market. And best of all: you can browse to your heart’s content and leave the week’s stress behind as you stroll around.
In Burgwedel, people love to get together to shop at the market: fresh flowers, organic food, cheese, and sausage—you’re guaranteed to fill your basket with fresh, high-quality goods. The vendors at the stalls offer great advice, and some of them will even treat you to a little something to taste. Once you’ve finished your grocery shopping, you can still browse the many interesting shops on Von-Alten-Straße. Plus, there’s still time for a cozy cup of coffee, a glass of sparkling wine, or a delicious ice cream sundae before heading home.
If you would like to participate in the weekly market, you must submit an application for a stall space to the Burgwedel City Public Order Office. For more information, please visit the Burgwedel City website.
