Grab your big shopping basket and head over to Burgwedel’s pedestrian zone, Von-Alten-Straße. That’s where the big weekly market takes place every Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Whether it’s fruit for a cake or asparagus for lunch—you can find absolutely everything at the market. And best of all: you can browse to your heart’s content and leave the week’s stress behind as you stroll around.
In Burgwedel, people love to get together to shop at the market: fresh flowers, organic food, cheese, and sausage—you’re guaranteed to fill your basket with fresh, high-quality goods. The vendors at the stalls also offer great advice, and one or two of them are sure to treat you to a little something to try. Once you’ve checked everything off your grocery list, you can still shop at many interesting stores on Von-Alten-Straße. Plus, there’s still time for a cozy cup of coffee, a glass of sparkling wine, or a delicious ice cream sundae before heading back home.
If you would like to participate in the weekly market yourself, you must apply for a booth space with the Burgwedel City Public Order Office. For more information, please visit the Burgwedel City website.
