Kaliberg with summit festival

The greened-over waste rock pile from the potash mining operations has become something of a landmark in Sehnde. Every three years in the summer, the “Bergfest” festival is celebrated at the top. The summit bus takes guests up to where bands, brass bands, food stands, and stalls await. And what goes on there is simply incredible: a massive crowd. What a blast, with a sweeping view of the surrounding countryside.

The festival usually takes place in the summer and attracts large crowds. Bands, brass bands, and various food and merchandise stands offer a wide variety of activities. A shuttle service is available to comfortably transport guests to the plateau.

The combination of industrial history, an exceptional location, and its event format makes Kaliberg a unique destination within the Hannover Holiday Region. In addition to the festival, the site is also a popular viewpoint and a starting point for excursions in the surrounding area.
