Hannover Holiday Region: Seebühne on Lake Steinhuder Meer

Hannover Holiday Region

Lake Stage

The Seebühne at Steinhude Harbor during the Festive Weekend

Culture, nature, music—that’s what makes Lake Steinhuder Meer such a great summer destination!

The Hannover Holiday Region offers a fantastic attraction: with the floating stage on Lake Steinhuder Meer, the towns of Neustadt an der Runge and Wunstorf have created a venue that is unparalleled in northern Germany. Surrounded by water, the stage is a particularly successful blend of culture and nature. During the summer months, the stage can be found at three different locations. Concerts at Steinhude Harbor or in front of the beach terraces, a jazz evening on the northern shore of Mardorf, classical, pop, rock, swing, or brass band music: many new events enrich the cultural program at Lake Steinhuder Meer.

An atmospheric program on the lake stage

Seebühne - Culture on the Water

This was made possible by the “Integrated Rural Development Concept” (ILEK), through which the towns of Wunstorf and Neustadt an der Runge aim to develop an intermunicipal spatial development plan as the Lake Steinhuder Meer & Lower Leine Valley region. As a flagship project, the floating lake stage plays a central role in the region’s tourism and cultural revitalization. By moving cultural events onto the water, the strong connection between nature and culture at Lake Steinhuder Meer is to be particularly highlighted.

The floating body of the stage is a special metal construction and measures 9 x 6 meters. The stage is equipped with trusses to which the lighting technology is attached. Locations for the speaker towers are also provided on the floating structure. Two separate rooms provide space for the power supply unit and a changing area.
