The Seelze Local History Museum is housed in a historic half-timbered house. Its permanent exhibition features an old cobbler’s workshop, a village schoolroom from around 1900, a “parlor” from around 1900, a barber’s shop from around 1920, and “Life in Seelze: The Development of the Town of Seelze from Early Settlement to the Present.”
The "Gute Stube" is often used by bridal couples for civil weddings.
By appointment, pupils can have lessons with the museum teacher in the schoolroom as they did 100 years ago, write with styluses on slates, practise the old German script and learn about the rules of conduct that applied in the past.
Temporary exhibitions on the history of the town of Seelze and its residents, as well as on general topics, complement the permanent exhibition.
