At Lake Steinhuder Meer, visitors can not only explore the fascinating world of butterflies, but also view a collection of more than 100,000 specimens.

Butterflies from all over the world can be seen at the butterfly farm.

Since 2000, the Insect Museum and Butterfly Farm has been attracting butterfly enthusiasts of all ages with its large free-flight hall and extensive collection, consisting of more than 100,000 butterflies, insects, and beetles. The exhibition showcases a selection of the most beautiful and largest beetles—including the world’s largest longhorn beetle—as well as butterflies, moths, and many other unique insects. All exhibits are labeled with their name, location of discovery, and date.

Affiliated butterfly farm

About 400 colorful exotic butterflies of all sizes flutter among tropical plants, and visitors can experience them up close.
