Ju 52 Museum

In the JU 52 hangar at Wunstorf Air Base, visitors can see a Junkers JU 52, one of the last original examples in the world.

The aircraft was raised from the bottom of Lake Hartvikvann in Norway in 1986 during a spectacular salvage operation. The salvage, which was made possible solely by the JU 52 e.V. association founded specifically for this purpose, is extensively documented as part of the exhibition. Following expert restoration at Wunstorf Air Base, the aircraft is now the museum’s main attraction. Additionally, special exhibits are on display that reflect the development of aviation in general and the history of Wunstorf Air Base in particular. Other aircraft and helicopters are also on display.
