Steinhude Wine Festival

At the 13th Wine Festival, numerous winemakers from five German wine-growing regions will present their latest vintages and offer fascinating insights into traditional winemaking methods and the unique characteristics of their regions, including the Mosel, Nahe, Rheinhessen, Palatinate, and Saale-Unstrut. Set against the unique atmosphere of the lovingly restored Barn Quarter, visitors can look forward to an enjoyable weekend filled with diverse flavors, stimulating encounters, and musical entertainment.

The wine festival kicks off on Friday at 5:00 p.m., inviting visitors to taste, feast, and enjoy themselves throughout the three-day event. In addition to a wide selection of fine wines, visitors can look forward to a diverse culinary lineup that offers something for every taste, from savory specialties to sweet treats.

Numerous stalls showcase a diverse selection of delicacies: from fine spices, tea, and select gourmet foods to high-quality cheese specialties such as mountain cheese, Iberico cheese, and aromatic truffle cheese, as well as premium salamis, truffle chips, and crispy Schüttelbrot. The selection is complemented by beautifully arranged cheese platters with select accompaniments such as cherry tomatoes, grapes, peppers, radishes, and blueberries.
Lovers of hearty classics will also find something to their liking. Freshly baked tarte flambée, fish specialties, juicy smash burgers with crispy fries, as well as bratwurst, fries, soups, pan-fried dishes, and suckling pig ensure culinary variety.
For a quick snack, options include langos and pretzels, while sweet specialties like crêpes and ice cream provide moments of indulgence. The offering is rounded out by a brewery serving craft beers and non-alcoholic beverages.

Schedule:
Friday, 5:00–10:00 p.m
. Karsten "Gitman" Bölting will kick off the musical entertainment on Friday evening, setting the right mood starting at 6:00 p.m. with a varied repertoire of German evergreens, rock and pop classics, and soulful melodies.

Saturday, 3:00–10:00 p.m.
On Saturday, the wine festival opens as early as 3:00 p.m. Starting at 4:00 p.m., singer Julia Kokke will transport us into the world of Schlager music. From 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., visitors can experience a musical journey through time. Together with her partner Christoph, Kokke performs German hits from the lively ’50s through the glittering ’70s; dressed in period-appropriate costumes and with great emotion, they invite visitors to sing along, sway, and dream.
From 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., the talented singer takes us on a journey from Paris to Berlin. She sings classics by Édith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Juliette Gréco, and Jacques Brel in French and in delicate German translations, as well as German chansons by Marlene Dietrich and Hildegard Knef. Her literary narration, short skits, and lovingly selected props turn the program into a sensory experience.
The singer will round out the evening from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with her new show program “Schlager Meets Disco.” In this show, the singer combines the best of two musical worlds: the emotional highlights of German Schlager and the danceable cult hits from the 70s to the 90s.

Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
On Sunday, the wine festival continues at 11:00 a.m. with a variety of dance performances. The event kicks off with the line dancers from the Uschi Braun Dance School in Stadthagen. Line dancing is a form of group dance in which participants dance in sync in rows, facing forward or side by side, to country, pop, or modern music. The set step sequences are easy to learn and create a communal yet dynamic dance experience. Visitors are warmly invited to join in. At 2:00 p.m., the children’s dance group from TanzLounge Stadthagen will take the stage. Children of various ages will present a varied and rousing choreography that emphasizes a sense of rhythm and joy. The focus is on playful learning, team spirit, and the development of basic dance skills.

The stage program will conclude with the hip-hop show by BSV Gleidingen. The dance group will perform with several age groups and present an energetic program that combines modern hip-hop elements with expression and dynamism. The individual performances come together to form a varied show that will delight the audience and round off the event day in style. The wine festival ends around 6:00 p.m., leaving everyone looking forward to next year’s event.
