On June 21, the summer solstice, when the day is at its longest and the night is at its brightest, Hanover's city center is transformed into a lively stage. The sun not only brings brightness, but also sets people in motion: On over 30 stages, around 1,500 musicians* bring Hanover's city center to life with music, dance and encounters between 2 pm and 10 pm.
This year's lineup for Hanover's biggest music festival is once again diverse: from jazz, classical, and soul to rock, pop, and electronic music—the Fête de la Musique in Hanover has something for everyone.
At around 9:45 p.m., the traditional song “Der Mond ist aufgegangen” will be performed as a grand evening chorus on the stage in front of the main train station. All visitors are warmly invited to come to the choir stage and sing along.
Admission is free.
