Golden Leibniz cookie

Probably the smallest sight in Hanover.

The famous "Golden Biscuit" is "only" gold-plated and hangs on the outside of the Bahlsen administration building from 1911. At the beginning of 2013, the cookie became famous worldwide when it was stolen in a cloak-and-dagger operation. The thief then contacted Bahlsen by post in a Cookie Monster costume and demanded, among other things, that Bahlsen donate cookies to the Hanover Children's Hospital on the Bult. Bahlsen then offered to donate 52,000 cookie packets to 52 social institutions if the cookie was returned. The gold-plated cookie was found hanging from the statue of the Lower Saxony Horse in front of the Guelph Palace on February 5. The unknown perpetrator has still not been caught. Some time later, the cookie was returned to its original place.
