The post mill is situated in a very idyllic spot in Hermann-Löns Park.
Renovated trestle windmill
The old post mill, built in 1701, was decommissioned in 1935 and later moved to Hermann-Löns Park. Due to the risk of collapse, the mill was dismantled in 2008. The mill’s long period of inactivity was cited as the primary cause of the damage. After restoration, the mill was rebuilt in 2012. The mill is part of the Lower Saxony Mill Route.
The Anderter windmill in the Anderten district is also part of the Lower Saxony Mill Route.
