Anderten lock

The lock was the largest inland lock in Europe when it opened.

Anderten Lock (also known as the Hindenburg Lock)

The Anderten Lock overcomes a height difference of 14.70 meters across its two lock chambers. It was inaugurated in 1928. At the time, the lock was a technical marvel, and it remains just as fascinating today.
