Herrenhausen Garden Theater

The historic Heckentheater in the Great Garden is still a unique open-air theater in the Great Garden and is used for theater and dance performances. The 300-year-old stage tapers towards the back and rises slightly, creating a perspective effect.

Gilded lead figures and taxus pyramids form the end of the hornbeam hedges, which also serve as a backdrop and dressing room. The planted lime trees and hedges in the stage area are also eye-catching. A total of 30 mythical figures adorn the stage and the audience area. The auditorium offers space for almost 1000 visitors.

Every year in August, the "Summer Nights in the Garden Theater" invite you to a variety of events in the blooming garden splendour. The historic garden theater unfolds its very own magic under a starry sky with concerts, poetry slams and films.
