The Orangery was built in 1723 to house orange trees and other frost-sensitive potted plants during the winter. The building acquired its current Neoclassical
façade nearly a century later, designed by court architect Laves. Since the early 1970s, the elongated building has served as a venue for celebrations. Today, it is primarily used for concerts and lectures.
