The World Communion of Reformed Churches is headquartered in Hannover.
Protestant Reformed Church
The church was built in 1898 in the Neo-Gothic style according to plans by Hubert Stier. The church bells were donated by Queen Victoria. During World War II, the church was almost completely destroyed and rebuilt in 1956. During the reconstruction, architect Dieter Oesterlen restored only the exterior; the interior was completely redesigned. As a reminder of the past, the church tower still lacks a spire today.
