Hybrid bus gets climate protection moving

Hannover is setting an example for climate-friendly tourism with its new hybrid sightseeing bus, which is currently in service. The double-decker bus combines a diesel engine with an electric motor.

At speeds of up to 30 km/h, the vehicle runs entirely on electric power, which reduces emissions, particularly in the city center. When higher speeds are reached, the electric motor efficiently assists the diesel engine. As a result, the bus consumes about 15 liters less diesel per 100 kilometers compared to conventional double-decker buses. Hannover is thus taking an important step toward sustainable mobility while offering visitors an eco-friendly sightseeing experience.
