Here you will find information about the Osnabrücker Hof or Fürstenhof.
Osnabrücker Hof or Fürstenhof
The Fürstenhof, also known as the Osnabrücker Hof after its former owner, the Bishop of Osnabrück, was built in 1673. It was renovated by Georg Laves between 1817 and 1818. In the years that followed, the building served as a residence for, among others, the future King of Hannover, George V. The last Hanoverian Crown Prince, Ernst August, was also born in this house.
The historic building is named after its former owner, the Prince-Bishop of Osnabrück (Ernst August of Hannover, son of the Elector of Brunswick-Lüneburg of the same name, and Sophie of the Palatinate). Built in 1673 and redesigned in 1817–1818 by Georg Laves, it later served as the residence of George V, the future King of Hanover. The last Hanoverian crown prince, Ernst August II, was born at the Fürstenhof.
