Here you will find information about Herrenhäuser Allee.
Herrenhäuser Allee was laid out by landscape architect Ernst August Charbonnier from 1726 to 1727 to create a link between Leineschloss in the city center and the electoral summer residence in the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen. 1,300 Linden trees were planted in four rows along a two-kilometer stretch. A wide carriageway was created in the center.
The alley, lined with four rows of linden trees, now runs in a straight line for two kilometers from Königsworther Platz to the library pavilion in the Berggarten. Built in 1726–1727 by landscape architect Ernst August Charbonnier, it was originally intended to connect Leine Palace in the city center with the electoral summer residence in the Grosser Garten. A wide roadway for coaches and carriages ran down the center of the alley.
