The foundation stone for Herrenhausen Palace in the Great Garden was laid as early as 1640. Over the following centuries, the building underwent several renovations, the most extensive of which was carried out by Georg Laves between 1819 and 1821. It was Laves who gave the palace its Neoclassical appearance. After the palace was destroyed during World War II, it was faithfully reconstructed in 2013. Today, it houses a museum as well as a modern conference center.

He was the architect who gave it its final, classicist appearance. Destroyed during World War II, it was finally rebuilt according to the original plans in 2013. It houses the Museum Schloss Herrenhausen as well as a modern convention center.
