The Wangenheim Palace was built between 1829 and 1833 according to plans by Georg Laves as a residence for Count Georg von Wangenheim. It is considered one of the most significant Neoclassical buildings in Hanover. After Wangenheim’s death, the building even served temporarily as city hall; today it is the headquarters of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor, and Transportation.
