Leibniz – In the Footsteps of the polymath

This guided tour invites you to discover Hannover from a unique perspective—through the life and thought of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. His name is found throughout the city and, to this day, symbolizes curiosity, knowledge, and the quest for the bigger picture.

At selected stations, you’ll discover how a highly gifted child grew up to become one of Europe’s most influential thinkers. Along the way, you’ll encounter not only fascinating biographical insights but also surprisingly vivid ideas from mathematics, philosophy, and science.

Places such as the Leibniz House, the Leineschloss, and the Neustadt Court and church Stadtkirche of St. Johannis provide the backdrop for stories about an eventful life spent between research, politics, and European exchange.

Without giving too much away: This tour shows why Leibniz was not only a man of his time, but continues to shape our world to this day—often in ways you wouldn't expect at first glance.
