25th Library Pavilion

The Library Pavilion in the Berggarten was built between 1817 and 1820 under the direction of Georg Laves in the French Neoclassical style to serve as the residence of the head gardener. The location of the central rotunda is aligned with the central axis of the Orangery and the Gallery building. Today, the pavilion houses the administrative offices of the Herrenhausen Gardens.

Even from Königsworther Platz, it can be seen from the vanishing-point perspective of Herrenhäuser Allee: the Library Pavilion in Berggarten. Georg Laves led the team responsible for its construction beginning in 1817. The master gardener’s pavilion, designed in the French Classicist style, now houses the administrative offices for the garden complex. The central rotunda is aligned with the central axis of the orangery and the gallery buildings.
