3rd Laveshaus

Georg Laves had the Laveshaus built between 1823 and 1824 as his own home in the neoclassical style. He himself lived on the 3rd floor until the end of his life. Laves rented out the two lower floors to personalities such as the commander of the Royal Hanover Brigade, Sir Hugh Halkett. Today, the Laveshaus is home to the Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects.

Georg Laves, court architect and later the leading architect in the entire Kingdom of Hanover, had his own residence built in the Classicist style in 1823–1824; it is now known as the Laveshaus. Laves himself occupied only the third floor; he rented out the floors below to other well-known figures, such as Sir Hugh Halkett, commander of the Royal Hanoverian Brigade. Today, the building houses the Chamber of Architects of Lower Saxony.
