E4 Grand Garden

Here you will find information about the Great Garden in the Herrenhausen Gardens.

The approximately 50-hectare Baroque garden has been preserved virtually unchanged as a testament to its era. At the end of the 17th century, the Guelph electors turned Herrenhausen into a cultural attraction in Europe with their summer residence just outside the gates of Hanover. The layout and design of the Große Garten bear the hallmark of Electress Sophie. And she was convinced: “We can show off with this garden.”
