Pentecost – Long Weekend in Hannover

Ranger consultation hour

The next drop-in session at the Neue Moorhütte observation tower is on Sunday, May 22, 2026. Come meet a ranger: ask questions, experience nature, and learn more about the work of a ranger—whether you’re dropping by on a whim or planning ahead.

Between April and November, the nature park rangers hold a monthly ranger consultation hour, usually at the Neue Moorhütte observation tower.

Visitors can explore nature, look through a spotting scope, and ask the rangers questions about the nature park, protected areas, and the local flora and fauna.

Background information

The open format of the ranger consultation hour offers visitors to the nature park the opportunity to get answers to open questions about the nature park, nature in general, the job description of a ranger and much more.

The regular appointment is also an opportunity to clarify certain issues - because as administrative enforcement officers for nature conservation and shipping police matters, the rangers often mediate in conflicts and record administrative offenses.
