Desimos Special Club

Since 2002, entertainer Detlef Simon has run a successful cabaret venue at the Apollokino in Linden, Hanover. Now his cult events are also available to stream.

This is Desimo's Special Club

At the Desimos Spezial Club, Hanover-based Detlef Simon presents comedy, cabaret, and top-notch variety entertainment. In addition to guest performances by solo artists, the monthly "MIX-SHOWs" are particularly popular events for which you should reserve tickets as early as possible. The stage features carefully selected surprise guests—usually four well-known and rotating comedians from a wide variety of genres. The show’s motto, “Live! Funny!! Linden!!!,” stands for an extremely diverse program. From subtle cabaret punchlines to skillful musical fun, from literary wordplay and delightfully silly nonsense to stand-up comedy—anything is possible.

Cult made in Linden

The "spezial Club" has quickly become a cult event and continues to grow. The club now presents weekly live shows featuring spectacular cabaret artists in one of the city’s most beautiful movie theaters. Increasingly, the small team is also organizing guest performances at the Pavillon and the Theater am Aegi. An annual highlight of the local cultural scene is the presentation of the popular “sPEZIALIST” Audience Award at the Schauspielhaus.

Show in the oldest movie theater in the north

The "Apollo - Cinema and Stage" is the oldest movie theater still in operation in northern Germany. Today, under the management of Torben Scheller, the Apollo shows classics, interesting niche films, ambitious children's movies and the latest art house hits. Here, viewers can experience everything that has quality in cozy modern cinema seats. Movies have been shown in this unique setting since September 1908.

Starting in 1973, the focus shifted to art house cinema, as the Lindener Juwel was one of the first German art house theaters.
