Description

Springe Hunting Lodge

Culture Amidst Deer Antlers

The Jagdschloss Springe and its associated forest and hunting lodges were built between 1836 and 1842. At the same time, a 1,600-hectare game reserve, surrounded by a 16-kilometer-long wall, was established in the Kleiner Deister near Springe, initially as a royal Hanoverian and later as an imperial royal hunting ground.

After serving various purposes throughout history, the hunting lodge was restored in the basement in the classical style between 1988 and 1993. The Imperial Hall, originally built as an addition in 1880 under Prussian rule, was restored to its original splendor in 1999–2000. Its furnishings also reflect the imperial taste of the turn of the century.
