The City Archives is a public institution open to all interested citizens. As the "memory" of the city, it is responsible for preserving and making available documents that must be permanently retained for legal, cultural, or historical reasons. The Archives is a cultural institution that lays the groundwork for the city's historical identity.
Directions:
The City Archives are located in the Hannover Collection Center, right next to the Wiesenau light rail stop (Line 1).
Parking spaces are available for visitors (cars and bicycles, one car charging station).
The building and access are completely barrier-free.
Please schedule reading room appointments in advance by phone (tel. 0511/168-42173), and submit requests for archival materials via email a few days in advance.
