The Hermannshof

Leisure and Inspiration in a Historic Landmark

The Hermannshof is a former summer residence of the industrialist Hermann Rexhausen, dating back to the 1920s. The aura of a free spirit and art lover, where leisure resides (and the muse is never far), still lingers today over this beautiful park nestled between the village edge and the fields. What is the secret of this place, where one is invited to pause, to exchange ideas, to reflect, to dream, to let things mature, to experiment, to step back, and to focus?

Since 2002, the "Kunst und Begegnung" association has been creating contemporary art with people of all ages, in collaboration with clubs and schools, for both rural and urban communities. The venue is a restored, overgrown historic garden featuring a tea pavilion, an architectural garden, an orchard, and quarries. It was designed in 1920 by the Worpswede architect and sculptor Bernhard Hoetger. Today, the Hermannshof Völksen is a cultural monument of Lower Saxony.

The Hermannshof promises sensory delight and intellectual fulfillment. Here, you can encounter art, artists, friends, and strangers. And, last but not least, yourself.

Public transport: Völksen-Eldagsen stop, Springe, S-Bahn line S5, followed by a 15-minute walk.
