Kloster Loccum

It is one of the most important Cistercian monasteries north of the Alps: an impressive building complex, founded in 1163, with a late Romanesque collegiate church, cloister, imposing gatehouse and farm buildings.

The monastery is home to the Preachers' Seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hannover, a spiritual site, a cultural center, the starting point of a pilgrimage route—and well worth a visit.
