The hospital group, with 3,400 beds and approximately 8,500 employees, treats around 135,000 inpatients and 160,000 outpatients annually. Operated by the Region Hannover, the hospital network is one of the largest municipal hospital groups in Germany. With a market share of approximately 40%, the company is the largest provider of healthcare services in the Region Hannover. The municipal enterprise operates ten hospitals in the state capital of Hannover and the surrounding area.

In addition to primary and routine care, the hospitals provide specialized tertiary care of supraregional significance in many medical specialties.
