Deutsche Messe AG is embedding sustainability deeply into its corporate strategy and has set itself the ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035.

Deutsche Messe AG

Through the Fair2Future project, the company is bringing together all measures aimed at achieving this goal and defining success in terms of environmental and social responsibility. This commitment is reflected in various areas of action, including energy, mobility, and waste management, and encompasses initiatives such as sourcing 100% green electricity since 2019, the gradual replacement of the company’s vehicle fleet with CO2-free alternatives by the end of 2025, and the promotion of public transportation use by covering the cost of the Deutschlandticket for employees.

In addition to these specific measures, Deutsche Messe AG is also committed to promoting sustainability through its events. Trade shows such as HANNOVER MESSE, INTERSCHUTZ, and LIGNA are dedicated to sustainability and provide platforms for showcasing solutions aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and promoting a sustainable circular economy.

Deutsche Messe AG sees itself as part of a comprehensive ecosystem within the events industry and, through ongoing dialogue with partners, customers, and other stakeholders, strives to make measurable progress toward sustainable events. This holistic approach underscores the importance of sustainability not only as an internal goal but as an integral part of the entire trade fair industry.
