Deutsche Messe Wins Bid to Host ITMA 2027

Hannover. Following an international bidding and selection process, Deutsche Messe has been awarded the contract to host ITMA 2027.

The world’s largest international trade fair for textile and apparel technology will be held in Hannover from September 16 to 22, 2027, and is expected to occupy a total area of 220,000 square meters across 13 exhibition halls. ITMA is part of CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers, which comprises a total of nine European textile machinery associations.

Deutsche Messe won the bid with its concept, which emphasizes maximum location flexibility, a strong focus on service, a modern digital infrastructure, and sustainability. The concept was developed and submitted in close collaboration with the state capital of Lower Saxony and the mayor’s office.

“We are delighted to have brought ITMA, an internationally renowned trade fair, to Hannover—an event that attracts around 1,600 exhibiting companies from 44 countries and over 100,000 visitors from all over the world every year,” says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Executive Board of Deutsche Messe. “This is not only a success for us as a trade fair venue. Hannover’s restaurant and hotel industries, as well as the retail sector, also benefit from it.”

Since 1951, ITMA has been held every four years at various venues, including Barcelona, Basel, Birmingham, Brussels, Lille, Milan, Munich, Paris, and Hannover. The current edition of ITMA is taking place in Milan from June 8 to 14, 2023.
