IdeenExpo - Interactive Exhibits
More than 800 interactive exhibits are the centerpiece of the IdeenExpo
IdeenExpo
This year's IdeenExpo offers an impressive selection of interactive exhibits that bring technology and science to life in exciting ways.
Among other things, visitors can check out a lightweight cargo bike developed by students at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer. Thanks to its ultra-lightweight frame and zero-emission drive system, this bike offers a sustainable solution for urban transportation. Another highlight is the project for underwater cleaning of ship hulls using lasers, presented by the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. This technology helps remove biofouling and reduce CO2 emissions.
The State Office for Mining, Energy, and Geology highlights the importance of wetlands for climate protection and offers visitors the opportunity to explore the world of geoecology and soil science. Through an interactive exhibit, visitors can learn how the deep sea is explored using 3D technology and how important it is to protect groundwater.
In addition, visitors to the DLR_School_Lab in Braunschweig can experience their own virtual reality spacewalk and explore the International Space Station (ISS). Another exciting exhibit is the “Storm in the Wind Tunnel,” which demonstrates how high-speed wind tunnels are used in research.
In the Digital Worlds Zone, visitors can learn about autonomous driving and train an AI for a model vehicle themselves. The Sunderbird solar-powered boat, developed by students at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer, demonstrates the practical application of electrical engineering and renewable energy in shipping.
Other impressive exhibits:
Lower Saxony Metal: Using a Holobox, visitors can experience holographic twins that visualize technical processes. This exhibit offers an interactive look into modern production technologies.
Salzgitter AG: Visitors can use VR headsets to experience virtual firefighting and get a firsthand look at safety procedures. This simulation realistically demonstrates how to respond to emergency situations.
Volkswagen and Autostadt GmbH: Various exhibits provide information about the future of mobility, including autonomous vehicles and sustainable propulsion technologies. Visitors can explore innovative vehicle concepts and their features.
North German Chemical Associations: At this booth, visitors can make their own "popping bobas" and learn about chemical processes in the process. This hands-on activity demonstrates how chemistry is used in everyday products.
ZF Friedrichshafen AG: An autonomous go-kart and a speed-cubing machine showcase the precision and speed of modern technology. Visitors get to experience the application of advanced automation technologies.
NDR: Interactive exhibits offer insights into various media professions and the production of broadcast content. Visitors can try their hand at the roles of journalists and technicians.
Goethe School, Neu-Isenburg: Aviation research is showcased through the "Ikarus" idea-gathering project, which highlights innovative solutions and models. Students present their work and research projects.
BZTG Oldenburg: The "Heads Up for Bikes" project focuses on road safety for motorcyclists and offers practical tips and demonstrations. Visitors learn how to ride safely on the road.
These and many other exhibits make the IdeenExpo a fascinating experience that demonstrates how technology and science can improve our lives. For more information, visit the official IdeenExpo website.
