The Große Garten is a gem of Baroque garden design: enjoy the charm of this Baroque garden, which is one of the best-preserved in Europe. Another top attraction: the Museum Schloss Herrenhausen invites visitors to discover the diversity of Herrenhausen’s extensive palace and garden complex in an entertaining way.
Equally worth seeing is the Berggarten, a botanical show garden featuring around 12,000 different plant species. In its greenhouses, visitors can discover up to 800 blooming orchids, tropical rarities, and a wide variety of cacti and succulents, among other things.
For an enjoyable day out, we recommend combining your visit with a trip to the Museum Wilhelm Busch—the German Museum of Caricature and Cartooning—or the Sea Life Aquarium.
