Hiking, climbing, or biking

The Deister, located about 30 kilometers southwest of Hanover and rising to an elevation of 405 meters, is a great place for hiking. It is Germany’s northernmost low mountain range. Here, the whole family can try their hand at climbing, for example, at the high ropes course. For those who prefer to explore Hanover’s local mountains from the saddle of a bicycle, the “Deisterkreisel” trail network is the perfect choice. The individual sections of this roughly 100-kilometer circular route can be combined as desired and offer plenty of sights to see: Impressive manors, village churches, and half-timbered houses bear witness to centuries past.
