Starting immediately, visitors once again have two extra hours every Saturday to stroll, browse, and haggle. From April 2 through October 31, the Old Town Flea Market will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Anyone wishing to participate as a vendor at the “Am Hohen Ufer” flea market is asked to check in with the staff in charge well in advance of the market’s opening. Stalls must be fully set up one hour before the market opens. To preserve the character of this traditional market, the sale of new goods is not permitted. Exhibitors and visitors can find more information at www.hannover.de/flohmarkt.
Ever since 1967, the Old Town Flea Market has been inviting visitors every Saturday to stroll, browse, and haggle in Hannover’s Old Town. “Am Hohen Ufer,” numerous vendors present a diverse selection of goods. This traditional flea market is known far beyond Hannover’s city limits. People even travel from the Netherlands, Belgium, and neighboring German states to attend. You won’t find new or mass-produced goods here. Instead, visitors can browse through art and kitsch, odds and ends—and discover treasures like antique candlesticks, chests from grandmother’s day, ornate picture frames, or truly unique jewelry. In addition, the selection ranges from pictures from various decades to medals, rugs, ornate porcelain, and fine glassware, all the way to comics, records, CDs, toys, tools, table linens, and painting supplies.
