15th Deister Day - Visit Hannover

HMTG press release

15th Deistertag

The 15th Deister Day invites nature lovers to enjoy the great outdoors on May 5 with a variety of activities!

Deister Day is organized by the Deister Working Group in collaboration with local clubs, organizations, and institutions.

Six municipalities around the Deister

Each of the six municipalities surrounding the Deister (Bad Münder, Bad Nenndorf, Barsinghausen, Rodenberg, Springe, and Wennigsen) has put together a varied program that appeals to the whole family. From guided hiking and biking tours, herb walks, sightseeing tours, and live music to tractor-drawn covered wagon rides, there’s something for everyone.

The Deistertag is primarily promoted by Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG), which produces the program flyer and runs a large-scale poster campaign within a 60-kilometer radius of Lower Saxony’s state capital. In addition, there are advertising spaces in Bremen, as well as advertising columns and triangular stands in downtown Hanover. Furthermore, in-train TV spots on Üstra trams and at stations draw attention to this popular event.

“The Deister, right on Hannover’s doorstep, is a true paradise for those seeking relaxation and nature lovers, offering endless opportunities for hikes, bike rides, and leisurely walks. The 15th Deister Day offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the beauty and diversity of our region while raising awareness of sustainability. The mountain range is easily accessible by public transportation,” says Hans Nolte, Managing Director of Hannover Marketing & Tourismus GmbH.

In the Deister municipalities as well, clubs, tourist information offices, hiking associations, and local retailers are helping to put up posters and promote the program.
