The Maschsee Festival is not only a major boost for the Region Hannover, but also holds unique significance for Lower Saxony as a whole.

Maschsee Festival 2025

With the Hamborger Veermaster A hint of Hamburg wafts over to the Maschsee, the Ohana Beach It brings a touch of Hawaii, with a nod to Scandinavia, and a Mediterranean atmosphere is simply part of the fabric here—all complemented by a culinary selection that leaves little to be desired. A little bit of everything, but one thing is certain: The Maschseefest is not only a major draw for the Region Hannover, but also holds unique significance for Lower Saxony as a whole.

1.4 million guests, thanks to the summer comeback

The Maschsee Festival currently attracts around 1.4 million visitors—thanks in no small part to the return of summer last weekend. As a result, the festival has become an integral part of the state’s calendar of events. The day with the highest attendance so far was Saturday, with approximately 230,000 guests—exactly the same as last year.

A special highlight: the torchlight swim on the second Saturday evening of the festival. 120 swimmers took to the water; the youngest participant was just ten years old—and managed to complete the entire course.

Stephan Weil, mayor of the state capital of Hannover from 2006 to 2013 and Minister-President of Lower Saxony from 2013 to May 2025:

“The Maschseefest has become an integral part of life in Hannover and the surrounding region—1.4 million visitors have already proven that. And you know why: strolling there on a balmy summer evening is pure pleasure. There’s plenty to discover: My personal favorite spot has long been the Löwenbastion with its view of the north shore. That’s also where my favorite snack stand on the street food mile is located.”

New concepts successfully implemented
The Aperitivo Bay on the west bank has already firmly established itself in its first year. The gourmet—Geibel has quickly become a fixture at Maschsee.

Guests can look forward to many more events and summery temperatures through Sunday.
