Informative safari through opulent plant splendor!

Guided tours through the late summer mountain garden

The Enchanting Mountain Garden

Starting this summer, Hannover Marketing & Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) has also been offering public guided tours of the Berggarten for hobby gardeners and nature lovers.

It is a paradise on earth and renowned for its unique collection of plants from all over the world: the Herrenhausen Botanical Mountain Garden in Hanover. More than 12,000 plant species in the garden can be viewed year-round. These include native flowers, tropical rarities, unusual cactus species, and—with 800 specimens—the world’s largest collection of orchids.

Visitors enjoy an informative journey into the exotic world of the tropics and subtropics, passing cocoa trees and banana plants on their way to a primeval landscape of ferns and sequoias. This diverse collection of native plants fills the air with the enchanting scent of this unique flora—a feast for the senses! Our experienced guides are happy to offer expert tips on all things related to the blooming landscape.

Late summer is the perfect time for a plant safari, especially for orchid lovers: many orchids begin their main blooming season then. But other colorful late-bloomers are just as captivating. A visit to the Berggarten lets you extend summer a little longer and fully savor nature in its final days.

The guided tours take place every second and third Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. through the end of October. In 2024, they will begin in April for the summer season. Duration: 1.5 hours

We invite you to join a guided tour of the Berggarten and see for yourself what these tours through Hanover’s green urban oasis have to offer.
Tours are available on September 9 or September 16, both starting at 10:30 a.m.
