On the last weekend in August, Hannover’s Stadtpark will be transformed into a vibrant stage for music, culture, and socializing: The internationally acclaimed party series Glitterbox will celebrate its open-air premiere on Saturday, August 30 (3:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.). One day later, on Sunday, August 31 (3:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.), Electric Sunday follows—a laid-back electronic music event with an innovative concept that invites you to dance, relax, and enjoy yourself.
With a fresh, innovative concept, this event weekend is setting a new standard in the German festival scene—and once again putting Hanover, a UNESCO City of Music, on the international map.
Disco glamour in the city park: Germany’s only Glitterbox party celebrates its open-air debut—with an exclusive lineup.
Originally known as a dazzling winter event held in the Kuppelsaal, the festival is now moving to the Stadtpark for the first time—combining the urban setting of the venerable Kuppelsaal with the unique atmosphere of an open-air experience. Here, the dazzling world of the 1970s disco era meets contemporary soul, rousing dancefloor anthems, and spectacular show performances—a mix that attracts partygoers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
The Glitterbox has long been known as one of the most successful parties in Ibiza, and
Hannover’s exclusive edition—a fixture since 2019—brings that legendary Ibiza vibe right to the capital of Lower Saxony. Alongside cities like London, New York, Dubai, Amsterdam, and Lisbon, Hannover has established itself as an exclusive hotspot for the house and disco scene. This is thanks to Hanover’s hit producer Mousse T., who was there in Ibiza from the very beginning and used his connections back then to bring the Glitterbox to his hometown of Hanover. The prestigious event is organized by Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH (HVG)—for the seventh time this year
Some 3,000 partygoers from all over Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands are expected to attend. Thanks to spectacular performances by drag queens and dancers and the vibrant extravagance of the disco era, the event in the park is, as usual, aimed at celebrities, the art and culture scene, the disco diva and LGBTQ communities, and anyone who loves glamour, glitter, and house classics under the open sky.
The Line-up in a class of its own brings together international icons and celebrated club heroes:
- Louie Vega (Masters at Work): Grammy winner, house pioneer and musical visionary - Louie Vega has been shaping the global club scene for over three decades. Whether as one half of Masters at Work, with solo projects or cross-genre collaborations with artists such as George Benson, Luther Vandross or Anané - his sets combine Latin, soul, gospel, disco and house to create an unmistakable, captivating sound.
- David Morales: House legend, Grammy winner and style-defining remixer - David Morales has been one of the absolute elite of electronic music since the 90s. As a producer for Mariah Carey, Jamiroquai and U2, he has written club and pop history. With his energetic sets, his deeply rooted New York sound and his charismatic stage presence, he is not only in demand worldwide, but also an integral and beloved part of the Glitterbox family.
- Mousse T.: Grammy-nominated producer and DJ with global hits such as "Horny" and "Sex Bomb" He is one of the leading figures of the international house and disco scene. The Hanover native tours clubs and festivals worldwide—and brings an international flair back home with his home show on the Glitterbox stage.
- MiNNA: The London DJane inspires with her energetic disco and house sound, characterized by 70s vibes, 90s influences and her passion for music since early childhood. International festival and club appearances make her one of the most exciting new names on the scene.
- D Luxe: The Glitterbox resident DJane from London provides glittering moments of happiness with funky grooves and vocal house.
The Venue: Groove and Glamour Surrounded by Nature
With the open-air premiere of Glitterbox, this internationally successful event—which has already been held six times to sold-out crowds in the HCC’s Kuppelsaal—will now be experienced outdoors for the first time in its seventh edition—surrounded by greenery, with groove, glamour, and the high standards you’ve come to expect: Dancing under the open sky, chilling in the shade of the trees, feasting at food trucks, and dipping your feet in the water—that’s Ibiza lite in the state capital!
The idea of using the city park as a stage for a cosmopolitan, urban party event originally came from Hannover Marketing & Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) and was conceived during the pandemic. At that time, HMTG, together with HVG, was planning the first concepts for COVID-safe seated concerts in a green setting. Now the city of Hanover has opened the Stadtpark for events—thereby offering the ideal opportunity to turn this vision into reality.
Electric Sunday – Club Culture Under the Trees
On the Sunday of the festival, Electric Sunday will make its debut in Stadtpark—an innovative event concept that combines electronic music, community spirit, and the outdoors, specifically targeting all electronic music lovers as its audience.
“With Electric Sunday, we want to establish a new label that will create a long-term space for creative inspiration and the electronic music scene in Hanover,” said Lawiszus.

The line-up
Âme—that’s Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann, co-founders of the influential
label Innervisions. As a duo, they have had a major influence on the sound of the international electronic
music scene—somewhere between melodic techno, emotional
deep house, and avant-garde sound design. In their acclaimed live performances
, analog synths, sophisticated harmonies, and pulsating rhythms merge into
a hypnotic flow. With appearances on the world’s biggest stages—from Burning
Man to Sonar to Berghain—Âme ranks among the most influential live acts in
electronic music.
As part of the Berlin label and collective Keinemusik, Reznik stands for a casual, playful sound between house, disco, breaks and Balearic vibes. His DJ sets are carefully composed stories full of groove, soul and subtle dynamics - never predictable, always danceable. His deep musicality and keen sense for moods make him a favorite of sophisticated dancefloors worldwide - from Ibiza to Tel Aviv, from Berlin to Cape Town. Reznik brings to the premiere of Electric Sunday exactly the mixture of elegance, warmth and ecstasy for which Keinemusik is so celebrated.
South African superstar Shimza has taken the electronic music scene by storm with his unique Afrohouse sound and
powerful rhythms. His sets
are a perfect blend of technical precision and emotional depth that
you can physically feel. He tours worldwide at renowned festivals and clubs such
as Tomorrowland (Belgium), Cercle Events (various locations), Ultra Music Festival (Miami)
, and Berghain (Berlin). A particular highlight is his musical collaboration
with the globally acclaimed Black Coffee, with whom he takes African electronic music to
a new level.
Jörg Gumnior, better known as Sanfandisko, has been a true veteran of Hanover's house scene since 1998. Co-founder of the legendary cult party Uschi Rakete, he has been shaping Hanover's club culture for decades.
He has been a resident DJ at iconic clubs such as the Weidendamm, one of the most important venues for electronic music in Hanover. His musical focus is uncompromisingly on house—a genre he has been dedicated to with passion and expertise for over 25 years. As a local support act at Electric Sunday, he brings deep-rooted passion, experience, and an unmistakable sound that guarantees the perfect start to an unforgettable day.
