Glitterbox - Visit Hannover

6th edition

Glitter box

Germany’s only Glitterbox party returns to the Kuppelsaal in Hanover—a night of disco glamour and an exclusive lineup.

Glitterbox in the Kuppelsaal

On November 16, 2024, Hannover will host Germany’s only Glitterbox party, featuring a star-studded lineup in the historic Kuppelsaal of the Hannover Congress Center (HCC)—an event that has long been regarded as the “best party of the year” in the region, according to producer and legendary DJ Mousse T.

For the sixth time, the Glitterbox Party Night transports its guests to the dazzling world of the 1970s disco era. With contemporary soul, rousing dancefloor anthems, and spectacular performances, the event attracts partygoers from all over Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

Glitterbox has long been known as one of the most successful parties in Ibiza, and its exclusive Hannover edition—a fixture since 2019—brings that legendary Ibiza vibe right to the capital of Lower Saxony. Alongside cities like London, New York, Dubai, Amsterdam, and Lisbon, Hannover has established itself as an exclusive hotspot for the house and disco scene. This is thanks to Hannover’s hit producer Mousse T., who was there in Ibiza from the very beginning and used his connections back then to bring the Glitterbox to his hometown of Hannover. The prestigious event is organized by Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH.

Lineup and Location:
Since the first Glitterbox party here in 2019, Hanover’s own producer and house DJ Mousse T. has been delivering groovy beats and an electrifying atmosphere. Alongside this local hero, international DJ stars will be behind the decks to thrill the Glitterbox family with nu-disco and classic house. This year’s highlight is the debut of Dimitri from Paris in Hanover. Together with Aline Rocha, Julie McKnight (live PA), and Young Pulse, guests can expect a first-class soundtrack for an unforgettable night of partying. This is further enhanced by sizzling performances from international drag queens and an energetic ensemble of dancers. The combination of groovy sounds and spectacular performances creates a unique experience that goes far beyond an ordinary party.

The atmosphere in the Kuppelsaal of the Hannover Congress Center (HCC) is the icing on the cake: this impressive building, dating from 1914, is one of the most beautiful ballrooms in Europe. Beneath a sea of disco balls, accompanied by a shower of confetti and artificial fog, guests experience the glamour and extravagance of the disco era in all its glory.

“Since the Glitterbox parties have been completely sold out from the very beginning, we’re expecting another huge rush of visitors this year as well. This high-profile party from Ibiza attracts celebrities to its sophisticated setting just as much as it does the art and culture scene. The galaxy of sequins, glamour, glitter, and house classics also commands the utmost attention in the disco diva and LGBTQ scenes,” says André Lawiszus, HVG Managing Director, with delight.

Mindfulness Initiatives for a Peaceful Event Culture
The events organized by the Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH, such as the Glitterbox, are international and multicultural and are designed to offer everyone—regardless of background, age, gender identity, or sexual orientation—a platform for celebrating together. To integrate this diversity into a peaceful and mindful event culture, the HVG, in collaboration with the Johanniter—as was already successfully done at this year’s Maschseefest—has now developed “mindfulness measures” for Glitterbox 2024 as well. These complement the existing safety concept to ensure guests can enjoy a positive, respectful atmosphere and a carefree night of partying.
The measures:

  • PSNV Teams (Psychosocial Emergency Care): PSNV volunteers will be present in the Kuppelsaal on a regular basis. In addition, those in need can also contact the regular medical service, which will refer them to the PSNV team upon request.
  • Shelter for those affected: People seeking assistance are proactively escorted to the designated shelter by the PSNV and/or medical services, where they receive further care.
  • Information posters: The awareness campaign is highlighted at key locations such as the entrance, the bars, and the restrooms.
  • Free spike tests: The Johanniter counter at the entrance has five spike tests available per guest to test drinks for various substances if suspicion arises.
  • How to Contact the PSNV Team: In addition to being able to speak directly with the entire Johanniter team, a support hotline is available from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Guests can therefore contact us by phone at any time with questions or in emergencies by calling the hotline at 0800-3219214.

“Respectful interaction is our top priority,” explains Lawiszus.
