"When summer comes now, there is no better place in Hanover"

The weather service is forecasting warm, summer-like temperatures for the upcoming second festival weekend (Friday through Sunday). Accordingly, Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH (HVG) expects another 530,000 guests—similar to 2024, when sunny summer weather also prevailed.

The busiest day so far was yesterday, Thursday, with about 130,000 visitors. With a steady 20 degrees and eight hours of sunshine, visitors were drawn to all the shores of Lake Maschsee. Sunday also proved to be very well attended despite rain showers: Hannover 96’s home game brought numerous additional guests directly from the stadium to the festival grounds, where they lingered for a long time and took advantage of what was on offer.

“We’re very pleased that the Maschsee Festival goes on no matter the weather. We’re kicking off the second half full of energy—because when the weather is summery, there’s no better place in Hannover: it’s maritime, peaceful, and full of joie de vivre,” says HVG Managing Director André Lawiszus.

Christian Raupach from “Aperitivo Bay” on the west shore is participating in the festival for the first time this year and has a positive take on his debut: “Of course, like
all the other vendors, we’ve had to contend with the weather a bit. But we’re very confident that the second half of the festival will be great and that we can head into the final stretch on a high note.”

Friederike Meyer, who is now in her fourth year with the "Lindenblatt" on the north bank, also reports: "People are in the mood for the festival. Our bookings have increased so much that we are almost fully booked every day."

Guests can also look forward to some real crowd-pleasers:
On Saturday, August 9, around 100 divers will transform Lake Maschsee into an impressive sea of lights during the torchlight swim.
On Saturday, August 16, the NKR Duck Race will, as always, generate a lot of excitement: Thousands of yellow plastic ducks will race each other—all for a good cause.

In addition, the festival offers a varied music program that gives it its unmistakable character:

In addition to shanty choirs, Irish music, cover bands, Schlager parties and much more, "Mind2Mode", for example, is an absolute cult formation on the stage at the Maschseequelle: the band has been thrilling audiences for years with stylish interpretations of Depeche Mode, Simple Minds and U2.

Tip: During the Maschseefest’s opening hours, the “Maschsee Tower” on the stadium forecourt at the Heinz von Heiden Arena offers a spectacular panoramic view from a height of 75 meters.
