Hannover Brings a Nationwide MICE Network to the Region

135 event professionals discover the diversity of the Region Hannover for conferences, conventions, and business events

Meet Germany Summit in Hannover

In mid-June, Hannover successfully showcased itself as a top-tier destination for conferences, conventions, and business events: Together with the industry network MEET GERMANY, Hannover Marketing & Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) brought the nationwide summit to the state capital on June 17 and 18.

The goal was to give event planners, agencies, associations, and other stakeholders in the MICE industry a firsthand look at the diversity and capabilities of Hannover as a destination. To this end, the Hannover Convention Bureau at HMTG developed a varied program that allowed participants to experience the region’s many facets as an event destination.

A total of 135 industry representatives took the opportunity to get to know Hannover firsthand and make valuable contacts.

Among the highlights of the summit were twelve visits to selected venues that showcased the strengths of Hannover as an event destination. These included, for example, the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen, the Career Campus, and the Sheraton Pelikan Hotel. In addition, two networking evenings took place at unique locations (Hannover Adventure Zoo and GOP Varieté). Three interactive discussion sessions provided opportunities for knowledge sharing, new perspectives on current developments, and networking. The program was rounded out by a walking tour of Hannover’s Old Town.

The summit also achieved a wide reach in terms of communication: Coverage leading up to and during the event generated more than 350,000 impressions across various social media channels—particularly on LinkedIn. Combined with articles and advertisements in trade publications, this resulted in reaching a total of more than 150,000 industry contacts.

“For us, the summit offers an ideal opportunity to showcase the region as a destination for trade shows, conferences, conventions, and business events, and to engage in direct dialogue with national and international industry partners. After all, it’s only when you’re here in person that you can truly experience the range of venues, the professional infrastructure, and the high-quality, flexible service the region has to offer,” says Christian Katz, HMTG Managing Director.

The MEET GERMANY Summit is one of the most important networking and inspiration events in the German-speaking MICE industry. This B2B network brings together event planners, destinations, venues, and service providers, creating opportunities for exchange, innovation, and new business connections.

Even beyond the summit, the Hannover Convention Bureau, part of HMTG, continues to maintain a presence at relevant industry events and promotes the Region Hannover nationwide as an attractive destination for conferences, conventions, and business events.
