For the first time, all of the diverse bike tours in and around Hanover have been compiled into one handy guide. The 28-page informational brochure is intended to help further strengthen the Hanover cycling region. At the same time, it aims to inspire both locals and tourists to switch to bicycles as an environmentally friendly mode of transportation. “Hanover is proud to be a bike-friendly city, and we want to encourage visitors to explore the region in a sustainable way,” said HMTG Director Hans Nolte.
In addition to tips and information about cycling, the new brochure features a wide variety of routes suitable for cyclists of all skill levels. Whether it’s educational sightseeing tours through the city, relaxing day trips along the water and through forests, or more challenging stages through the hilly Deister region—every cycling vacationer will find the right route.
Hanover has firmly established itself as a bike-friendly destination, and not just because of its scenic landscapes and well-developed network of bike paths. Bike-friendly hotels bearing the Hanover “Bikers Welcome” label also encourage environmentally conscious travel through their sustainability initiatives. The brochure provides information on accommodations that focus not only on cycling tourism but also on regional cuisine.
Hans Nolte: “With the brochure ‘Hanover by Bike,’ we want to help our residents and visitors appreciate the beauty of our city and its surroundings, while also raising awareness of sustainable tourism. After all, cycling is good for both you and the environment.”
