This summer, the Region Hannover—with its vibrant state capital and 20 neighboring municipalities—is making a splash on the international stage, offering an extraordinary blend of cultural diversity, lively festival energy, and inspiring artistic and recreational experiences, including major anniversaries that are adding a special touch to this year’s celebrations.
To effectively promote the region’s tourism potential in other European countries, Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) has launched a comprehensive multichannel campaign. It is specifically aimed at visitors from the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
In addition to traditional out-of-home and digital out-of-home media (OOH & DOOH), the campaign includes Spotify audio ads, targeted Google Ads, and social media initiatives via Meta (Facebook & Instagram). Country-specific links to the campaign page lead directly to the experiential content. At www.hannover-living.de/highlights/, Hannover warmly welcomes its guests from German-speaking countries.
Whether it’s world-touring stars on stage, spectacular open-air events by the water, or centuries-old festival traditions: This summer, the city and Region Hannover offer a lineup of events that is second to none. With iconic events such as the Maschseefest—Germany’s largest lake festival—the Marksmen´s Fair Hannover—the world’s largest of its kind—the Stadtpark Open-Air, including the Glitterbox Open Air premiere in Germany, as well as concerts by international stars such as 50 Cent, Cro, and the Scorpions, Hannover is ideally positioned as a cultural and event destination on the global stage.
The museum scene will also contribute to the region’s cultural appeal in 2025: Among other things, the Sprengel Museum Hannover will present an outstanding exhibition:
“Love you for Infinity” brings together works by Niki de Saint Phalle with those of Yayoi Kusama and Takashi Murakami for the first time.
The year 2025 offers a special setting as the Herrenhausen Gardens celebrate their 350th anniversary. These world-famous Baroque gardens provide a magnificent backdrop for the International Fireworks Competition, top-tier classical concerts, and numerous other events. The historic setting lends each event an extraordinary atmosphere.
It’s not just the capital of Lower Saxony that attracts visitors—the surrounding Region Hannover, with its 20 municipalities, is also a diverse destination for outdoor recreation. Numerous hiking and biking trails wind through the varied landscape around the Deister. Lake Steinhude and the Blue Lake in Garbsen offer countless opportunities for water sports, local recreation, and camping.
Horseback riding stables and nature experiences such as moorland hikes are available in many places.
